After graduation, Lauren will attend law school and become a public defender. It is very important to her to stand up for the rights of those in crisis who have continuously been abused by the system. She hopes to take the experiences of being a public defender to advocate for changes in policy that will benefit low-income people, and she is particularly interested in working with affordable housing and criminal justice reform. She is very close with her family, drawing inspiration from her father’s 33 years in the US Air Force, her mother’s passion for community organizing and civic engagement, and her older sisters’ many years fighting for what is right in their respective communities.

In her spare time, Lauren loves to unwind with her friends by watching TV, going on long hikes, or shopping at interesting vintage shops/thrift stores around Columbus. Her vegetarian diet also keeps her trying new recipes and she is always open to recommendations!
