Kirk Warner

Title: Partner, Smith Anderson

Kirk Warner is a partner with Smith Anderson and heads the firm’s products liability practice group. He practices in the areas of products liability and a variety of litigation areas. He also represents a variety of government contractors with issues involving overseas war operations and contracts.

Mr. Warner has significant experience in products liability (motor vehicle, industrial, construction, tool, drug, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and asbestos defense), including serving as lead counsel nationally, regionally and statewide to multiple major automotive and consumer products manufacturers. He has litigated products liability cases throughout the United States in all levels of trial and appellate courts. Mr. Warner has represented all major automotive manufacturers as well as many major pharmaceutical, medical, and insurance companies, including many Fortune 500 companies in complex litigation matters in over twenty states and Guam. He also has trial experience in most general litigation categories as well as environmental coverage, commercial, construction, insurance and arson cases.

Kirk is also a Colonel in the Army Reserve. He is the Commander of the 134th Legal Operations Detachment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He has served as the Staff Judge Advocate of the 108th Training Command and as Deputy Legal Counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon for three separate Chairmen. Kirk commanded the 12th JAG DET under the Coalition Forces Land Component Command during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Kuwait and Iraq for the invasion and subsequent liberation. He moved to Baghdad as the CFLCC Staff Judge Advocate at the Early Entry Command Post for continued major combat operations into Baghdad and northern Iraq. He served in Baghdad as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, Combined Joint Task Force –7 (Coalition Provisional Authority). Kirk is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the Army War College.
