Akilah will go into research and policy in order to advocate for children who experience trauma. She is very interested in parenting styles and helping parents understand the developmental effect they have on their children. She intends to move to Washington D.C. to be hands-on with policy reform for the treatment of children and wishes to be immersed in experiences similar to her intentions as she interns with the Juvenile Justice Coalition here in Columbus. Akilah holds outreach and community engagement near and dear to her heart and wants to own her own nonprofit organization in the future. When she isn't spending countless hours studying, Akilah likes to engage in conversations with her friends, go on long drives, explore Columbus, and eat tacos.
