Beneath the Surface: A Conversation with Hanif Abdurraqib
On Thursday, January 18, Buckeye Leadership Fellows hosted our first Beneath the Surface event, an annual guest speaker series designed for students, by students, rooted in curiosity. We welcomed New York Times bestselling writer and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib for an impactful conversation led by BLF Director Mercedes Wallace.
Our program prides itself on challenging Fellows to dig deeper into their beliefs, who they are, and how they want to shape the world around them. Hanif was the perfect guest to bring these values to life by vulnerably and authentically sharing his story as he answered questions submitted by our students and the campus community.
Thank you Hanif for spending time with us and thank you to everyone who attended. This is just the beginning. We cannot wait to dive “Beneath the Surface” for years to come as we continue to grow the impact of BLF.
