November 14, 2017
The Buckeye Leadership Fellows Class of ’18 are finishing out their last semester in the cohort strong. On October 30th-31st, the cohort members traveled to New York City, NY to present their results for their final leadership challenge- for Meredith Publishing.
Meredith Corporation is a public company based in New York City, NY and Des Moines, IA and is the parent company of well-known magazine brands Better Homes & Gardens, Eating Well, Shape, Rachael Ray Every Day, Martha Stewart Living, Midwest Living and Parents. Meredith reaches over 50 million women monthly, including 36% of millennial women. The magazine brands publish information across a variety of platforms, including web, mobile, and social media.
The fellows were challenged by Meredith Publishing to identify strategies and possible implementation ideas to reach additional readers, especially younger female audiences. The challenge took place over an 8 month period, and the fellows worked within teams of 4-5.
The winning team was chosen by senior leadership at Meredith. This team consisted of Elle Stokey, Bryan Barrett, Brad Eichar and Vanja Tolj. Elle, Bryan, Brad and Vanja created a 15 minute presentation for Meredith suggesting the expansion of partnership channels to better satisfy the needs of younger generations as well as enrich the experiences for current customers. Congratulations to this team, and to all other cohort members who presented!
Michael Brownstein, Executive VP Chief Revenue Officer at Meredith enjoyed the opportunity to work with Buckeye Leadership Fellows. He stated, “Although the football Buckeyes broke my Penn State heart on Saturday, yesterday’s student Buckeyes were so impressive. Thank you for the opportunity.” We are proud of all that our senior cohort members have achieved and learned and we are excited to watch their continued success!
