Letter to a Mentor - Charita Dailey
May 26, 2020
By Beth Johnson
To B,
If you hadn’t pushed me to apply for Outstanding Senior and other Leadership Awards, I wouldn’t know the art of a humble flex.
If you hadn’t pushed me to apply for BLF, I wouldn’t have fallen in love with my current career path.
If you hadn’t pushed me to join OUAB, I wouldn’t be as self-aware. I wouldn’t value vulnerability and I wouldn’t know how transformative leadership could be.
If I hadn’t met you as BSA President as a freshman, we wouldn’t have connected so deeply.
From mentorship to friendship to sisterhood, you set the blueprint for what would become four of the greatest years of my life.
You set a precedent of excellence and you’re still achieving so much with the NFL today.
If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times—but thank you.
Thank you for being excellent to me. I love you.
With so much love,
C
