Junior Challenge: Operation Feed

February 17, 2013

By Daniel Ehrman

For the next several weeks, BLF Junior Fellows' Spring Semester challenge will be to work with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and develop strategic improvements to its Operation Feed campaign. Fellows will be required to focus on one (1) of three (3) elements of the current Operation Feed campaign:

  1. Creating a report of the “Best Practices” of successful companies within the Operation Feed campaign.
  2. Identifying new organizations to host the Operation Feed campaign.
  3. Securing new vendors for a new point of purchase program so consumers can financially support Operation Feed.

About Operation Feed

For over 30 years, Operation Feed has raised food and funds that provide assistance to individuals and families in need. Each year, Mid-Ohio Foodbank joins forces with local businesses, schools, civic groups, and individuals to raise critically needed resources through a community-wide drive.

Mid-Ohio Foodbank distributed over 46 million pounds of food in 2012, enabling its partner agencies across 20 counties to provide food for more than 102,000 meals each day. Operation Feed efforts help stock the shelves of these food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters throughout central and eastern Ohio.
