Alumni Spotlight- Brianna Pecsok

August 31, 2017 by Staff

Buckeye Leadership Fellows Alumni Brianna Pecsok is doing exciting things! As a recent OSU graduate majoring in International Relations and minoring in Hebrew and Nonprofit Studies, Brianna was selected as the first Cincinnati fellow in Israel by the Jewish federation of Cincinnati’s Partnership2Gether Committee.

Cincinnati is the first city to send an emissary to Israel for a year. Brianna will spend her time in Netanya, Israel teaching people about culture, life, and Judaism in the United States. She will be working with English classes within a junior high school four days a week. Outside of the classroom her time will be spent volunteering with youth groups, scouts and a young professionals group called HaGag.

Brianna is excited about her upcoming trip. She states, “This is a really exciting opportunity because it's the first time ever an American Jew is traveling to Israel to teach Israelis about American culture and Jewish pluralism. We've had Israelis coming to America to teach us about Israel for years so it's cool we're sending someone the other way (and Cincinnati is the first to do it, which is very out of Cincinnati character, haha)”. We wish Brianna luck in her cross-cultural exchange!
